Silva Forest Foundation (SFF) Certification Program evaluates
and certifies timber management enterprises and forest products
suppliers for ecologically responsible timber management
and for verified chains of custody. The SFF Certification

The focus of this report is on the Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC), the Canadian Standards Association's Sustainable
Forest Management Standard (CSA), the Sustainable Forestry
Initiatve (SFI), and the Pan European Forest Certification
Scheme (PEFC). Each of the four certification schemes is
assessed against a set of criteria, based on recommendations
by governments, academics and the forestry industry.
