FOREST FOUNDATION STANDARDS CHECKLIST FOR ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE
TIMBER MANAGEMENT: BRITISH COLUMBIA
September
1999, 126 pages
Full
Document
The SFF Standards for BC are "interim" standards used
by SFF assessors to evaluate forest management operations. These
standards will be in effect until such time as regional standards
for British Columbia are endorsed by the Forest Stewardship Council.
All operations meeting these standards are awarded both SFF and
FSC certification. SFF welcomes feedback on these standards from
all interested parties. Comments received will be carefully considered
for incorporation into any revision of these standards.

STANDARDS FOR BEST FORESTRY PRACTICES IN THE MARITIME FOREST
REGION: SFF ADAPTATION
January 2002, 64 pages
Full Document
SFF is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting ecologically
responsible forest use. As such, we are committed to ensuring
that any operations certified by SFF not only meet endorsed
regional standards, but also key standards that SFF has identified
as being integral to the maintenance of fully functioning forests
and forest communities. For this reason, SFF has reviewed the
FSC-endorsed Maritime Regional Standards in order to determine
whether there are any important gaps between that document and
key elements of the SFF Generic Standards for Ecologically Responsible
Timber Management. Where such gaps have been identified, SFF
has added requirements to the Maritime Regional Standards to
address any missing elements. All additional requirements are
highlighted in the text of the SFF-adapted Maritime Regional
Standards.
